Cranes shown above are NOT from our installation but share the same basic principle... (I could not get any pictures of our actual project :( ) | Creating these cranes was a joint effort amongst the class and I could not have done it without the directions on paper which show where to fold and the help of the magical Ms. Sudkamp. Basically we put these all up by creating little string loops for the clear wire to go through and taping to the ceiling in a "V" formation to mimic migration of geese or the similar. Through this lesson, we learned teamwork by working with the entire class, perseverance when some things did not go as smoothly as planned, and even some trust with each other and on the staff at the school. I also learned a new respect for those who fold with origami for a living, they must be very skilled and have much patience! The difference between process and product is that process is the "journey" of how we created the piece(s) and product is the "end location" meaning what it became in the end. I use the comparison between the journey and the destination because it seems to fit this situation both figuratively and literally (with the cranes travelling). |
