Question 1: Which project was the most challenging and why.
Answer: The first major project was the relief piece and this was most likely the hardest project for me. Not only was did this project take the longest for me, but working with cardboard I found out, is very tricky. The reason there is not as much detail as I would have liked in this piece is because the cardboard is very fragile. It is hard to carve down to the correct level; I usually ended up carving too shallow or too deep. Another challenging thing about this project was the painting. As is probably obvious, there are many different shades of green present here; although in retrospect it seems OK, I originally hoped it would be uniform. While this project was the most challenging, it was still a fun journey to embark on and I am glad I persevered with it.

Question 2: Did you feel the Illustration Fridays helped you think outside the box? Why or why not?
Answer: Overall the Illustration Fridays each week were a unique idea and they definitely helped me think out of the box. Since each week was a random word, there was no predicting what word would be next, so no one could really plan ahead. I generally did the first thing that popped into my head and expanded on that idea. If we had not done those I.F.s, 1. my drawing skills ( the little that I have) would have gone down hill and 2. my head would not think as creatively. Basically, the weekly drawings helped expand my creativity and imagination and I am glad we did them.

Question 3: What did you get out of this class? What was your take away?
Answer: This class has helped me realize that art can be 3D as well as 2D. I learned that even if you are not the best artist, you are capable of more than you think. I learned that I can be proud of things I create such as my Mario-Me and my pie. I relearned an important lesson: hard work pays off. I figured out even if you join a class to fill a hole in your schedule, it will not be the end of the world, on the contrary! I have had more fun making 3D art than I thought I would and am happy I was put into Ms. Sudkamp's art class. Overall I learned a lot in this class and look forward to the possibility of Sculpture II (H).
